Dear Colleagues and Readers,

In this isssue we are glad to publish six research articles. The articles refer the following studies: ocean literacy among the graduate students, roll damping assessment for ships, evaluation of occupational health and safety performance in shipyards, digital photogrammetry supported ship strength analyzes and the development of container transportation in Turkey. We would like to thank all our contributing authors, referees and journal staff.

As followed by our journal intensive scientific events have been organized in the last six months and the presentation sessions have hosted several industry members and scientists from abroad and Turkiye. The 4th International Shipbuilding and Maritime Symposium (INT-NAM 2023) was held at Yıldız Technical University on 11-13 October 2023 with the theme "Sustainable Innovations and Nature-Based Solutions" (Symposium book: www.int-nam.yildiz.edu.tr). 19th International Ship Stability Workshop (SSW2023 - Istanbul, www.shipstab.org/index.php/issw2023) and 7th International Conference on Advanced Measurement Technology for the Marine Industry (AMT) in collaboration with Istanbul Technical University and the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, both events were held at the university's Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center on 24-26 October 2023 (Conference book: www.amt23.com).

Another important news is that became a member of the International Association of Classification Societies ( ) on November 1, 2023. Turk Loydu, expected to expand its international activities, was founded on February 27, 1962 by UCTEA The Turkish Chamber of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers.

The 12th Ship and Yacht Design Competition has been held with the participation of 23 students and 10 projects entitled “Catamaran Pleasure Boat”. Ship and Yacht Design Competition has been held for twelve years totally hosted around 1000 students, (gyhib.org). While we congratulate our students who participated in the competition and received degrees, we plan to introduce the projects in our journal.
