ABSTRACT

In this study, it is aimed to analyze the occupational health and safety in confined spaces in shipbuilding industry. Confined spaces in new construction, repair and maintenance are summarized and the risks are analyzed. In national and international legislations, regulations related to occupational health and safety are briefly mentioned. A specific confined space accident example were analyzed by using the Formal Safety Assessment method to identify the determinants of reducing risk factors.
